I am so happy! The last 3 weeks have been absolutely AMAZING for me!

About a year ago or something, I put my name down on the public housing list, because that was the only way I was ever going to survive on my own, without my family in the real world.

Three weeks ago I got a call from the housing department saying a place had become available and they wanted me to go view it. I was super duper excited. Then about 4 days later, they called again and let me know ANOTHER place became available, that was even more suitable (wheelchair friendly) and they wanted me to view that house.

The second house was absolutely gorgeous, it had freshly painted "baby yellow" walls and it was a HUGE 2 bedroom unit. I loved it. I was going to say yes to the place, but THEN I got ANOTHER phone call!

They said that yet ANOTHER place became available, only like 5 minutes from my current home and it's close to the local shopping centre 'n all AND it's wheelchair friendly. It's much smaller, and the interior isn't as nice... but OMG so exciting!!!!!

I have officially accepted and signed up for the 3rd place, and i've got a friend moving in with me... and i'll be moving out within the next few weeks!!!! *does happy dance*.

All I gotta do is organise some care organisations to help me out with some stuff on a regular basis, have a few minor mods done to the house... and I will be all set to go!!!!

WOOHOO.

Ok... sorry for the massive spaz out, but i'm excited! Very Happy

It's been put back another 4-6 weeks until they can get Mods done... but that's still so damn awesome! I still can't wait! Very Happy I've done the "walk" from my new place to the shop... and it's do-able... minus one steep hill. I will be getting a motorised scooter or something to combat that eventually though... so all is still great! Very Happy

Yay... so this weekend was spent moving Nana's furniture that I brought to my new place. She'll be so proud of the place once she is well enough to see it. Her furniture looks amazing there! Shouldn't be too much longer and I can finally move in!

Well, the time is now even closer! It's been soo long waiting. Stupid government departments making me wait. Anyways, all the mods are officially done now, and all I have to do is get the carers and funding organised and I should be able to move in. I will find out a date to move in by this Wednesday (when I organise it with my occupational therapist who's been helping me get all this stuff organised). I will be out of home within the next week or two! *yay!* cheers

Yay! I'll be moving out on the weekend of the 4th and 5th of September. Soo close now! Can't wait for freedom, but not looking forward to leaving my cat behind back at my parents Sad
